As an interior designer, I love all things beautiful, but more than that, I love when “form follows function.” The iPhone is a perfect case in point (forgive the pun).
The iPhone is a marvel on so many levels that despite issues with dropped calls, it’s been the game-changer in the smartphone industry and the standard which every other maker aspires to surpass, and to date, has not.
So what’s the big deal with the white iPhone 4? I don’t get it.
Black is cool, black is hot. Black is industrial, black is chic. No one ever called the “little white dress” the go-everywhere, must-have, basic of every wardrobe. Furthermore, the horizon line between the black screen and the black case literally disappears, which is perhaps the most elegant aspect of it.
If you want a white case, what’s wrong with an after market case that not only adds the white color but protects your iPhone at the same time? Since you’re going to get a case anyway, why not a white one?
So again I ask, what’s the big deal with the white iPhone 4? I still don’t get it. Perhaps someone can clue me in. I welcome the answer. Or maybe I’ll just wait until it’s released, whenever that is, and find out for myself.
