As with any new product release, there are always things that customers would like to see especially with the new Apple iPhone. The iPhone has seen its share of complaints upon the release of this newest generation but the reviews are also very positive on many fronts. As customers add their own reviews Apple is listening and the complaints are not falling on deaf ears. Some of the features customers are asking for are extremely state of the art but when you have a state of the art product like the iPhone that is to be expected.
Many of the complaints about missing features centers around the customer need for more and more high tech applications on their iPhone and the desire to have the iPhone be a complete mobile communication unit. Many users would like to see the ability to send photographs from their iPhone added to the unit. This could have a practical business application as well and the need to send pictures from a handheld communication device is very important to most users.
Most mobile communication devices have the ability to dial a number simply by having the user speak the recipient’s name into the phone. With all of the other features the iPhone has, this one was left out and it has inconvenienced many users and has generated a great deal of complaints. Many people like the convenience that other phones offer of being able to use the voice dialing feature.
Since the iPhone appears to be a state of the art data communication unit many people expect to be able to use it to record video while they are out and about. While the iPhone does not currently support video recording the complaints about not having the ability to record video are being heard through the product reviews and in the direct correspondence to Apple.
Surfing the internet without the flash feature can mean that you miss out on many of the more exciting applications that the internet has to offer. At this time the iPhone does not support flash and this is causing many people surfing the internet to get frustrated and is generating complaints directly to Apple.
The iPhone does not have the ability to allow users to cut and paste from one document to another as you would on your regular Mac or home PC. This particular function is something that can be remedied with a software fix and there may be some sort of fix for this particular missing feature some time in the future.
Sometimes customers can register complaints about the simple things. One of the features not included in the iPhone that is showing up on Apple user blogs is the lack of a speed dial feature on the iPhone. It may seem insignificant but if you are a business user with a lot of people to call then speed dial can become your best friend very quickly.
Any new technology experiences challenges upon its release and the iPhone is no different. It is healthy that Apple’s customers feel the need to let Apple know what the perceived shortcomings are of the new iPhones because without customer feedback there can be no positive future product development.
