The moshi iVisor Anti-Glare screen protector for the iPhone 3GS is hilariously easy to install: all you do is open the package, clean your screen, align the screen protector, and then press down on the screen. It’s so easy that I actually did laugh out loud after the three second installation, since other screen protectors have taken far longer with their bubbles and squeegees and required spray bottles. Once the iVisor is on, there is really no worry about it coming off, unless you purposely tug on one of the corners.
Using the device with the iVisor is about 95% similar to having a naked screen. The 5% difference has to do with a few moments here and there where you may have to tap a little bit harder, since the iVisor is actually a rigid sheet of plastic with a small layer of air between it and the iPhone, so some taps may hit the iVisor and not the screen.
As for the optical quality: I haven’t perceived a major change in the colour or the clarity of the screen since installing the iVisor, which is actually quite surprising, since most anti-glare protectors tend to make the screen a lot fuzzier.
Installing screen protectors is usually a little stressful, since you have to worry about hair and dust and misalignments, but the iVisor makes the process almost fun in comparison. this really is one of those rare products that works perfectly right out-of-the-box and does exactly what it sets out to do, and it’s an easy recommendation for those who want scratch protection, without any fussing over easily wrinkled plastic shields.
The iVisor is available for the 3GS and the iPhone 4 for about $25 (as per this eBay listing I found). There don’t seem to be any official vendors for the 3GS version at this moment, though.
