What was wrong with the iPhone iOS 4 update?
If you owned an iPhone 3Gs, the answer is, not much. According to Digital Trends, the update added the capability for folders, faster speeds, multitasking, iBooks and more. Some of the most exciting features (most notably being multitasking) were absent if you updated the iPhone 3G to iOS 4.
However, no one was prepared for the loss of functionality that many iPhone 3G users experienced, myself included. Suddenly, my iPhone 3G runs slower than it did before the update, I have trouble with all of my applications (including standard applications like my mailbox) and the phone tends to freeze and quit more often than ever before. There’s no return once you update to iOS 4, so users were stuck.
What is expected from iPhone iOS 4.1 update for iPhone 3G users?
The iOS 4.1 update will reportedly restore the functionality that iPhone 3G users had before the update. Users like me are still fine without features like multitasking, but are hopeful for a working, non-crashing phone like the one they had before the iOS 4 update.
What can iPhone 4 users expect from the iOS 4.1 update?
Apple reports that for iPhone 4 users, the newest update will add the game center, make changes to iTunes, and add HDR photography and HD video.
Users wait excitedly for the iOS 4.1 update, though whether they’re looking forward to the update to add new features, or to simply get back the ones they lost before, depends on the iPhone version they’re holding.
