The elusive iPhone 5 release date continues to make waves, as rumors about the handset have been consistently popped out from the Internet rumor mill. At this time the 6th generation Apple smartphone has not been confirmed, but new information discusses yet another feature for the well-loved mobile device.
A recent article states the new iPhone will have a feature called AirDrop. The article says “the AirDrop feature currently being used in Mac OS X Lion will possibly come to the new iPhone 5. So what is AirDrop?
AirDrop is a program which gives users the ability to send and receive files wirelessly to “anyone around you without any required set-up or special settings.” If the iPhone 5 release date should include AirDrop then the iOS 6 handset will automatically find nearby users who are also using the feature. This could be a very useful feature indeed.
At this time it is not known when the iPhone 5 release date will be, but speculation is split between those who feel the gadget will début this month at the WWDC, and those who are leaning toward a late 2012 launch.
What do you think? Will the new iPhone 5 hit stores sooner than later? Would the AirDrop feature on the next Apple smartphone be a useful feature for you?
