It is an undeniable fact that there is radiation from the cell phone, now a necessity in our life. Various studies or research show that the radiation produced by the phones is so small that it will not hurt our body in a fundamental way, and we can feel reassured to use our mobile devices. But most of us still hold a skeptical attitude and view the radiation as an important factor to decide which is smartphone is worthy of buying or choose one over another.
As the two most smartphones now in the market, Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 4S are often juxtaposed by those reviewers and analysts to see which is more competitive and worthy of purchasing. Actually, in hard ware, Galaxy S3 and iPhone 4S run shoulder and shoulder, but it seems a little unfair for iPhone 4S which has been unveiled for over nine month while Galaxy S3 is totally a new iPhone. It would be more reasonable to maker a comparison between the iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3, but iPhone 5 is yet announced.
If the comparison in hard ware between these two phones can not help you to make a final decision, then you can consider some other factors, such as the radiation. There comes out a new report about the radiation of the smartphone evaluated by SAR, the specific absorption rate, a measurement for how much radiation your body is absorbing from the phone. The lower the number, the lower the radiation exposure is. Five devices are listed in, including the Motorola Droid 4, HTC EVO 4G, BlackBerry Bold 9700, iPhone 4S and Galaxy S3. The figure shows that the SAR for iPhone 4S is 1.11w/kg while Galaxy S3 only has 0.34w/kg, so it seems that Galaxy S3 may produce less radiation than the metal iPhone 4S.
It is not so sure that whether those figures have reflected the actual radiation of the mobile devices that we often see, but it may be taken into consideration for those who purchase the smartphones for elder people or young users. So will you give up your iPhone 4S and turn to another smartphone?
