We commonly cover and compare Android phones with iPhones here at TFTS, and one advantage that Android has over the iPhone is that Android phones are made by different manufacturers at different pricepoints. you have $50 Android phones, $100 Android phones, $300 Android phones, and so on and so forth, while usually there’s just one expensive iPhone. But, if you’re looking for a cheap iPhone, AT&T is offering a refurbished iPhone 3GS for just $9! Yep, less than $10.
The refurb iPhone 3GS is just an 8GB model, but that’s enough memory space to be able to manage your music and apps and things. It also requires you to get a new contract with data plan, which would you need anyway. Seeing an Apple product sell for $9 is somewhat remarkable. I’m pretty sure there’s nothing sold in the Apple store that’s marked at less than $25. Sure, the iPhone 3GS is a generation old, and the new iPhone 4S/5 should be coming out in a matter of weeks, but hey, you can’t beat the price here.
As for the fact that it’s refurbished, I tend to shy away from those products but I know a lot of people buy refurbished and have good luck with the devices and said they were like new. Data plans (required for smartphones) from AT&T start at $15/month, so keep in mind that you’ll have to pay that if you plan to pick up one of these iPhone 3GS for super cheap.
Anybody planning to pick one of these refurb iPhones up from the AT&T website?
